Bio: Magician, Steve Hart

In 1969 at the early age of 14 Steve Hart took first place in the stage competition at the Magical Youths International convention in Louisville, KY.

Since that time he has had many achievements through out his career as a professional magician.

In 2001 he was awarded the Comedy Excellence Award at the International Battle of Magicians in Akron, OH.

Steve established his magic career when he was awarded the job as resident magician for the Indianapolis, Indiana Union Train Station, a festival market place. At the time it was the number one tourist attraction for the state of Indiana. For three years Steve performed there 6 days a week sometimes doing 6 shows a day.

By the end of the three years Steve signed a contract for a family TV show. It was rated the number one TV show for the Indiana market. They taped 48 shows that included Steve’s magic and comedy, clowning, puppetry, and educational material.

Steve has created over a dozen magic effects, which are marketed to the magic community. He was the owner of several magic shops in Indiana and St. Louis.

After a great education in retail he now sells his magic through the Internet only.

In 1989 Steve was on staff when the magic nightclub, "Illusions" opened its doors in Carmel, Indiana. During the next 14 years he worked with several outstanding magician as the club became world famous for it’s magic and dinning experience.

It was during this time that Steve began to use his magic to for product promotion, trade shows, and speaking as a "motivational magician." By the year 2000 Steve had moved to Cape Canaveral, Florida and he made a complete shift in his career to focusing on his speaking and training. He developed a program called the Wizards of Wizdom Seminar for corporate and independent professional. Steve served a three-year term on the board of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He is now the head of their Membership committee.  He is also an active member of the National Speaker’s Association and the Academy of Magical Arts, Inc. He still enjoys the opportunity to perform his magic and comedy for conventions and at places like the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California.

Steve has lectured and performed for over 50 magic clubs and conventions. His lectures range from magic up-close, stand-up comedy, marketing for magicians, creativity, and the business of "motivational magic."

Inventor Of Magic Effects

Steve has always enjoyed creating new ideas for his magic. He has made several of his ideas available to the magic community. They can be purchased through this site or through selected magic distributors.

He is most famous for his Comedy Burnt Shoe Routine:

Wiz-Kote Machine $ 395.00

A shoe is borrowed from a child and placed inside the machine. The magician explains that the Wiz-Kote machine will clean the shoe and coat it with Wiz-Kote, which is a substance that will waterproof the shoe and keep it form ever getting dirty again. The magician (or child) turns the machine on. Lights start flashing and there are strange electronic sounds coming from the machine. In a few seconds, there is a smoke seeping out of the machine, quickly followed by a smoke detector beeping apparently something has gone wrong. Quickly, the machine is cut off and the top lifted off. The 4 sides o the box drop and there among the smoke, is a shoe burned to a crisp.

The magician tries to replace the shoe with various "comedy situation" shoes, but he does not have the right kind or size of shoe. Oh well, at least the magician can do is put it in a paper bag so the child can take it home without getting dirty. After placing the burnt shoe in the bag, the magician inflates the bag, and then burst it. The child’s shoe is restored. (Or use your "favorite method" or our Retrieval Chest to reproduce the shoe. For adult shows, use eyeglasses, ball caps, ties, watches, etc. A really funny premise for a trick.
